 Private Residence Colgate, Wisconsin
Project Description: This project represents a private family residence, on a wooded sloping site. The house was built initially, and later expanded to include an adjacent poolhouse.
The house was designed for a growing family, but yet designed for entertaining, with flowing, multi-level living spaces integrated with outdoor spaces. The poolhouse was designed as an addition, although not constructed.
The main part of the house is a timber framed, four bedroom house with a two story living room featuring a 12 foot glass wall looking out into the wooded lot. The open ceilings extend from the spiral stair leading to the lower level family room to the Master Suite's loft, roughly 32 feet above.
The poolhouse, designed as a timber framed structure for year-round use, included a spa pool as well as the swimming pool. The poolhouse, like the main house, featured a wall of glass looking into the site's wooded slope. The space was further daylit by a clerestory atop the roof, and the pool spaces use sliding glass doors in several areas to connect to the house's exterior patio and deck.
