 Gallun Tannery
1818 North Water Street
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Project Description: One of the firm's first projects was to design 26 moderately priced apartments in this vacant former tannery building on Milwaukee's Lower East Side, near Brady Street. The initial conversion met with strong success, with all 26 units being rented before construction was complete.
Due to the strength of the demand for loft style housing in the City, the owners of the Gallun Tannery have engaged Miller Architectural Group for upgrade plans to bring several of the existing units to a higher level of finish, as well as converting part of the remainder of the building to bring the total units to 30.
The firm was responsible for all aspects of architectural work on all phases of the project, including zoning, historic submittals, exterior and interior renovations, architectural and interior design.
